A Break Up

Just a quick Thursday night post to announce...I'm breaking up with Braun.

I know, I know...we were the last ones you expected...but isn't that always the case?

It was a difficult decision, but after making Dave's Moroccan Spiced Chickpea Soup again tonight and opting not to completely puree it (like Braun and I did originally) it made me realize I've become too dependent...too much of an "enabler" to Braun's willingness and ability to pulverize - into oblivion - even the most tender of ingredients.

Braun's power to turn a wilted spinach leaf into something barely recognizable (frankly) has become frightening...and so while this may seem abrupt - for me - it's the right decision.

Dave Lieberman's Moroccan Spiced Chickpea Soup (no doubt delicious WITH Braun) was over the top wonderful....without him....just as Dave intended.

So sure...  ...I'll miss Braun.

And there will be times (out of pure habit) I'll appropriately pivot over to his drawer.... yearning for what we once had...

But with this post...I am hoping to find the strength to rid myself of Braun...

...if only for the weekend. ;)

Oh no!!! Not Braun! I don't know if I could do it...I'm too hooked on pureed soups. Actually, I don't use an emersion blender, so I'd have to break up with either my blender or food mill, and that's just not going to happen.
The soup does look delicious in its natural form though!

Well, you know---He was never good for you---I sensed he was holding you back. Believe me, this is for the best. You will love again....There will be others, trust me. :)

Sometimes we need to take a little space from the one's we love. And hopefully come back together, stronger than ever, at the end. I'm sure you'll find that's true for you and Braun. In the meantime, this soup looks fabulous. Love the Moroccan flavors.

At least you're not cheating on him with a Krupps! Soup looks fabulous.

So does that mean that Braun is on the market then? Cause I've had my eye on an immersion blender for far too long :) Despite your broken heart the soup looks really good!

Thanks for the support guys. We'll see what happens but this is best for now...and Andrea, isn't it simply too soon to be asking such questions? LOL!

I don't want to depend on someone or something so much either. Just take your time and try to detox from Braun and you'll feel better. your soup looks very comforting.

Good luck with the break-up! Can't wait to see what you move on to. I hardly use mine but just might have to pull it out now.

Lovely soup! Wow. I dumped Braun for a rock crusher blender (smile. Perhaps, I went a bit too far.

I know you mean well and think you're serious about this decision, but you won't last 30 days without him. I know. I've tried :-). The soup sounds better than wonderful. I hope you are having a great day. Blessings...MaryI

A co-dependent relationship is a terrible thing. Of course, now that you're aware of the dangers, you'll be able to re-establish a different level of friendship; one that understands that there are others as well. Bravo to you.

Besides that, I'm sure that Braun was very proud of that soup. It's absolutely fantastic and I want some!

Too funny...Well I guess sometimes we have to move away from ones that we get too dependent on ;)
Lovely soup and I am sure was quite comforting after a tough breakup...
