In fact...

...if I owned a restaurant or cafe, this Garlic and Herb Marinated Grilled Tuna Steak with Red Onion, Zucchini, Lemon and Capers would definitely be on my menu ~ served with a side of roasted baby reds!

Garlic and Herb Marinated Grilled Tuna Steak with Red Onion, Zucchini, Lemon and Capers

Method:

Marinate Tuna Steak in a bit of olive oil, fresh chopped garlic, fresh chopped herbs (here I used thyme, oregano and sage), salt and pepper and a touch of lemon zest ~ for about 20-30 minutes total (flipping half way through time).

Slice a lemon, a zucchini and a red onion each in circles, approximately 1/2 inch thick (spray with cooking spray or drizzle with olive oil on both sides).

Heat grill to medium-high.

Grill your tuna to desired doneness. In this dish, we prefer our tuna medium rare, approximately 3-4 minutes each side. (Tuna can dry out FAST so be sure NOT to overcook!)

Grill your vegetables and lemon until grill marks appear and caramelized, about 4-5 minutes each side.

Place grilled vegetables on a plate, place your grilled tuna steak on the side of the veggies (slightly overlapping)

Top your tuna with grilled lemon slices and a few sprigs of fresh thyme for garnish.

Top entire plate with 2 tablespoons of capers that have been drained and lightly rinsed.

Drizzle entire plate with a delicious olive oil and ENJOY!

I LOVE grilled tuna, but seriously, what does it for me in these photos is the roasted lemon. I think I've been spending too much time on food photography!!!

Girl, if you owned a restaurant, I'd be there at least 3 times a week (I mean, I'd say every night, but I still like to cook!! lol)
The tuna steaks look and sound incredible!!!

When Peter and I hit on something we consider extraordinary, we will say "this goes on the restaurant menu." The restaurant in in questiong is, of course, imaginary, but it's the concept that counts.

Just made this one and enjoyed very much. Easy and quick to make, healthy and tasty.
My only comment is that the grilling time of the Tuna steak should be more like 2-3 minutes (unless perhaps my steaks were thinner than yours...)
Thanks!
