Crunchy Olive Oil Toasts with Sheep-Milk Ricotta, Peaches & Honey ~ It's an Escape ~

IMG_8363

People often ask me, "what keeps you blogging?"

Those who know me understand...(and I think the same is true for many bloggers out there) blogging is a hobby (albeit slight obsession) that connects me to other food enthusiasts around the world while bringing a sort of "sophistication" into the life...of a thirty something stay at home mom with two children under the age of five.

So at least in my case, with every drizzle of honey...

there are the little ones who have made it their life's goal to never LOOK at the camera lens AT THE SAME TIME....

Today (that's ice cream on their faces...)

And for every bowl of fresh, glistening, ripe, beeeautiful New Jersey peaches.....

I find this....

and this...

and this.

And for every picture that I try to get right...

I find this...

So there you have it folks...

This. Is why. I blog.  And honestly...I wouldn't dream of it any other way :)

Great pictures, and as a stay at home mom of 1, I can relate.

We must lead parallel lives :) I have just 1 home - well until tomorrow when she starts school (SOB!) but blogging helps remind me there is more to food life than hot dogs, mac & cheese, fish sticks and nuggets. :)

Food and bloggin' go together like Boston and beans. And you do them both so well...

Once when my boys were little I found 3 cheerios stuck to our radiator cover. I decided to look at all of those "surprises" as a form of modern art rather than evidence of gross, negligent behavior. Sometimes it works and sometimes, not so much....like when I found a potato chip crushed underneath my younger son's mattress pad. Makes me crave a little sophistication (and a ful time nanny/housekeeper)!!!!!

ok, now that you've said that, you must post the first photo you get with them both looking at the camera at the same time. :) Adorable children. We're just getting our Colorado Peaches, this sounds wonderful. One of my favorite things is chopped peaches and cottage cheese...this ramps up that version! Look forward to trying it.

Oh my god - I'm not a huge honey person, but this looks amazing, honey and all! The peaches and cheese seem like they would compliment one another perfectly.

I bet that dinosaur is pissed that he's wrapped in pink tulle!!! ha. And I love where your wine coaster ended up and its contents. These are fantastic reasons to blog. I can completely imagine your kids looking at these posts when they get older and remembering this stuff. Love this post!

I go away for a few weeks and come back to a blog with a whole new approach. I love that it is still so much about the food but not only and I totally understand why you blog. It is why I blog, to create a little space in my life that is just for me, even if every word is imbued with my family.

Just found your blog thru pinterest and I'm dying to make all your recipes! I think I may just have to systematically cook thru your entire blog, everything looks delicious, thanks for all the ideas!
